Hanover, August 2014 – Viscom is pleased to announce that its Closed-Loop Interface has been successfully implemented and released for Panasonic printers and placement machines after extensive testing. In close and effective cooperation, both companies have accomplished a closed control loop between solder paste inspection (SPI) and printer, and as a forward loop to the printer. With this, the print process can be inspected regarding offset, volume and more, and immediately optimized. The data is sent from the SPI directly to the printer to enable automatic correction of the printing process. Furthermore, the cleaning cycle also can be very easily optimized and adapted to meet specific needs with this information.
The same is true for the placement process. Automatic correction of the placement as a forward loop also is possible. With the Closed-Loop Interface, the placement machine can follow the SPI results and optimally adapt the placement position to the real paste print. This can be especially advantageous for small components and reduce the risk of tombstones.

Through integration of the Panasonic interface, Viscom customers can now use the complete Quality Uplink package for Panasonic equipment as well. The interfaces merge seamlessly in this unique tool for process optimization. With the Quality Uplink concept, all inspection data and images of the inspection stages, such as 3D SPI, AOI, AXI or MXI, can be saved and linked. Thus, this information is available for a multitude of applications for optimization of the individual inspection and manufacturing steps as well as the entire process. This conserves resources and lowers manufacturing costs.
