Viscom’s sales engineer Michael Mügge dies unexpectedly

News

Hanover, Germany, September 2019 – Last Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Viscom's sales engineer Michael Mügge suddenly and completely unexpectedly died at the age of 56. Viscom is deeply saddened by the loss of its greatly respected staff member of many years.

Mr. Mügge was a trained radio electronics technician and electronics engineer, and had worked at Viscom AG since 2005. As an established and internationally recognized expert in the SMT industry, he held positions at Fuba Vertriebs-GmbH, Delphi Automotive GmbH and Robert Bosch GmbH over the course of his career.

During his nearly 15 years with Viscom, he continuously expanded our sales activities, making a significant contribution to the growth and success of the company. His dedicated commitment to Viscom also included his work as a member of the Works Council as well as his lobbying activities – in the latter capacity he gave innumerable presentations as the company's ambassador for inspection technology. He demonstrated his talents as a moderator and host every year at the Viscom Technology Forum, welcoming more than two hundred international participants on each occasion.

In addition to his work at Viscom, Michael Mügge had been the deputy director of the Hannover chapter of the FED (Association for Design, Printed Circuit Boards & Electronics Manufacturing) on a voluntary basis since 2013 and the deputy chairman of the advisory council of the umbrella organization FED since 2018. He also actively promoted and supported young talents in their school and university projects as well as within the framework of the association and other youth work.

We all knew and valued him as a helpful, creative, resolute and friendly colleague and will always remember him with respect and gratitude. Our deepest condolences go to his family and friends. The Viscom team will remember Michael in a memorial ceremony in the forum at the Viscom campus on September 30, 2019 together with family and friends.
