Working at Viscom

Working for and with us is more than just a job. The bond between our employees and the company is strong, and turnover is low. Flat hierarchies, a team-oriented corporate culture, a state-of-the-art work environment and a wide range of free services contribute to a pleasant working atmosphere.

Our employees are our greatest asset

We offer a number of services to ensure that our employees enjoy working in our company. In view of our global market leadership, the fostering of young talent and personnel development are particularly high priorities. Viscom is also family-friendly: in addition to flexible working hours, with our Vikis Child Care Center we have created optimal conditions for balancing your private and professional lives.

Interesting perspectives around the globe

The work in our various corporate divisions and departments is varied and challenging. As a global player, Viscom offers numerous opportunities for international collaboration or placement directly in our subsidiaries.

Software Development

Software development at Viscom covers the entire product life cycle. In addition to classic image processing, core tasks include various system controls and data connections, and last but not least the interface to the operator. In software development, you have the best chances to start your career with us as an engineer in the fields of computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.

Sales

As a member of our sales team, you are responsible for the ongoing expansion of our market leadership both domestically and internationally. Our systems offer optimal reliability in the inspection of electronics components. To ensure this, customer-specific solutions are an absolute must. Thus, technical knowledge is essential to your work in Viscom's sales department in order to integrate the technical framework with expert knowledge of our products to ensure that we optimally meet the needs of our customers.

Enthusiasm for our products that require explanation as well as a technical education, e.g. as an engineer, physicist or state-certified technician, are the best qualifications for success in the sales department at Viscom. In addition to technical expertise, a sales engineer or key account manager should also have an independent, solution-oriented approach to work, the ability to work in a team, and a professional manner. Strong customer relationships are extremely important to us, so we attach great importance to a collaborative and analytical approach to working with customers and their requirements.

In addition to staff members in the field, we need strong back office support from our sales assistants. Commercial training with an excellent understanding of technical issues or technical training with additional commercial qualifications provide the ideal background for joining our company.

Commercial division

In addition to a wide range of technically oriented activities, a successful company also requires a strong administrative and commercial structure with challenging positions in accounting/controlling, human resources, marketing, purchasing and investor relations. You can join us via a commercial apprenticeship or a corresponding program of study.

Applications

As an applications specialist you will create and optimize inspection programs and inspection patterns using our software. This is done during visits to domestic as well as international customer, so your personal attributes should include a willingness to travel, flexibility, and a communicative, customer-oriented personality. In addition to an interest in image processing in the field of automatic image analysis, you should ideally have a degree in electrical engineering/computer science or advanced training as a state-certified technician in order to be able to provide strong support to our applications team.

Production

Skilled specialists with apprenticeships in electronics, mechatronics or mechanical engineering are optimally equipped to demonstrate their abilities in the construction and assembly of our systems.
Each machine in use around the globe is manufactured with great care and commitment by our employees at our main production site in Hanover, Germany. In addition to technical expertise, a proactive, structured and systematic approach to your work is essential. You will work both independently and as part of a team. A highly developed awareness of quality is an absolute must for the production of our machines.

Commissioning

Before our systems are delivered, the Commissioning Department prepares them for use by the customer. This includes configuration, calibration and testing as well as preparation of the corresponding documentation of this work. To be optimally equipped for these tasks, training in an electrical profession or as a mechanic/IT specialist, ideally supplemented with advanced training as a state-certified technician is required.
In addition to the relevant professional qualification, spatial skills/visual thinking, an independent and systematic working style and the ability to work well in a team are absolutely vital.

Service

The work of a service technician in the field includes finding errors/defects/malfunctions and performing repairs, maintenance and modifications. Service assignments take place both in Germany and internationally, so willingness to travel as well as training in an electrical/electronics profession are required for service technicians. Due to the changing locations, flexibility with regard to working hours, reliability and the ability to work independently are important criteria.
Service management and hotline employees are indispensable in planning the service assignments of their colleagues as well as in providing advice to customers over the telephone. Customer contact and finding solutions are important parts of your daily work.
